Total Recall (2012)

Total Recall is a remake of an earlier film in 1990 (wow that is long ago) staring Arnold Schwarzenegger. The latest one, has Colin Ferrell playing the lead role with a slightly different effect. Douglas Quid (Colin) leads a general mundane life as a factory worker but feels that his life just isn't what it seems. Feeling that way, he then decides to enlist the help of a company called Recall which specialises in memory implants (this means that you can lead a very exciting life besides your own). The procedure as expected, doesn't go to plan and Quaid now finds himself a mark man by the forces that be.

I got your back and your bum

AMAGAD WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS THAT? Did you ever feel like crying after watching a disappointing film? Money is pretty hard to come by these days and this is one of the worst ways to spend your money. It started off so well then suddenly it turned from Total Recall into Underworld 1,2,3,4 (how many damn Underworld movies are there anyways?). I think we were in pure disbelief at how the remake was done. It tries to pay homage to the original film (which was amazingly good) but just ends up destroying whatever memory you have of the old film.

Someone about to open up a can of whoop-ass!

The action scenes are impressive as our hero jumps from one scene to the next. The futuristic city is amazing and really reminds you of cities like the one in Blade Runner. Dark, gloomy and somewhat naughty should have been the way for this film. The film should be pushing the imagination just as the original had. I think there is nothing worst than a film that looks like it's going to be good but just falls way under the level of decency. Overall Total Recall (2012) isn't very good but if you want a movie with no purpose, no story, no use for a name, then this is probably for you.

This isn't a very good film son

Rating - 2/5 (TOTAL Crap)
